Privacy policy

The short version

The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type are not sent to this site, stored on a server, or shared. There are no accounts, no sign up, and no newsletter.

What you type into a calculator

Calculations happen on your device. Inputs are written into the address bar so that a result has a link you can save or send. That means anyone you give the link to can see those values, so treat a shared link the way you would treat the numbers themselves. Your browser may also keep the link in its history.

Some tools read published exchange rates from the Frankfurter API. That request sends the currencies and date you asked about, plus the technical details any web request carries, such as your IP address. It does not send the amount you entered.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider. Like any web host, it processes standard request data, including IP address, browser type, and the page requested, to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Those logs are held by the host, not by me, and are not used to build a profile of you.

Analytics

There is no analytics script on this site and no visitor tracking of my own. I do not know which pages you looked at.

Advertising and cookies

This site is free to use and may carry advertising to cover its costs. Where ads appear, they are supplied by Google, acting as a third party vendor, together with its advertising partners.

• Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or to other sites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on that visit history.
• Advertising partners may also set cookies or read device identifiers of their own. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policies.
• I do not receive the numbers you enter into a calculator through any of this, and I do not pass any information about you to advertisers.

You can turn off personalised advertising in Google My Ad Center. You can opt out of personalised advertising from many other vendors at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Your browser settings can also block or delete cookies, and the calculators keep working if you do.

Where the law requires consent before advertising cookies are set, such as in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you will be asked for it before those cookies are used, and you can change your answer later.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Since I hold no accounts and no calculator data, such a request will usually concern the host's request logs or an advertising vendor. Write to me and I will point you to the right party or pass the request on.

Children

This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Meaningful changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
